A utility for the UNA Watch

ClockStudio

Three of my apps in one: Ebb's tides, Stargazer's night sky and WorldClock's time zones, on one launcher entry, with DOWN to move between the faces.

The faces

Tides

The next high and low drawn as a curve, with the moon's phase and your steps and active minutes as two arcs. Set one recent high water from a tide table and it does the rest.

Night sky

The whole of tonight: when true dark begins and ends, when the moon is up, and the stretch that is both dark and moonless. A simpler version draws the same night round the rim, with the numbers larger.

Time zones

A big clock with a second city under it, in seven-segment digits. Step through your list underneath; when you travel, hold SELECT for two seconds and the city you are looking at becomes the big clock.

Made to live together

  • You choose which faces are in the cycle and in what order; list just two and DOWN becomes a toggle between them.
  • Each face names itself for a second as it arrives, and the app opens where you left it.
  • Where one high water is not enough, the Config Curator can fit your port's own tide from a NOAA station number or your port's position.
  • The night sky faces want one GPS fix to learn your latitude: step outside with it open once and it remembers.
  • Settings changed in the phone app take effect on the running app within 20 seconds, with no restart.
  • Tapping SELECT does nothing on purpose: the watch lights the screen with that button.

Buttons

DOWNtapthe next face
UPtapstep forward; the next city on the zone faces
UPholdinvert, the wrist light, the info screen
SELECTholdthe face's alternate; on the zone faces, at 2 s the big clock moves, at 4 s your cities or all
BACKleave
Not everything the three apps do: four buttons carry four faces, so Ebb, Stargazer and WorldClock each stay better at their one thing.
