What the face shows

Time and totals

The time and the date, then what each side holds against its total: GUI for the screen, SVC for the service. A line in a different colour means the watch could not give all of it.

Free and largest

The watch's own figures for its free memory and its largest single free block, which decides whether an app has room to start. HEAP NO ANSWER or HEAP REFUSED if the watch does not say.

The banner

DEVELOPMENT along the bottom, so the face is never taken for an ordinary clock. Change its words or draw it in amber; the count beside the version rises each time a phone change arrives.

How the totals work

  • Set a total for the screen and one for the service from the phone, in KB.
  • The total includes the face's own size and the face takes the rest, so 320 means 320 held in all.
  • When the watch cannot give all of it, the held figure is how much it could.
  • With a total of 0 the line shows the face's own size alone.

Settings

  • Screen total, up to 512 KB
  • Service total, up to 128 KB
  • Banner: up to 12 characters, or amber
  • Light background
  • Set from the phone: a watch face gets no buttons
